Free of Treatment
According to GIA, 95% of sapphires have been treated in some form. Unheated means this sapphire has not had any treatment, including the common heat treatment, and therefore the colour and cleanliness is completely due to natural formation and survival of the gem over many thousand years.
When we source our sapphires we make sure they are of the finest quality and will be the highlight, in their own right, irrespective of the jewellery design. Each gemstone is cut to enhance its natural beauty, and in such a way that it may be set in the simplest solitaire engagement ring setting to stunning effect.
Each of our sapphires are independently certified.
Deliqa Gem sapphires are ethically sourced from Sri Lanka, Madagascar, Tanzania, Mozambique and Australia through our close, personal, long term relationships from family run mines where the environment and the people are cared for and ethical trading is in practice.
We are truthful of the origins of our sapphires; most sapphires from various origins are branded under Ceylon Sapphires as that is what the customer has heard most about. You will see our sapphires are proudly from various origins; we only put our name to anything that is ethical. More importantly we love being inclusive and providing opportunities to all we can in the best way we know how.
We mentor all we work with for their betterment. Our difference is to create a living for all we work with, and not just ourselves.
Each of Deliqa Gems sapphires have a personal meaning to ourselves and offered with a magnitude of responsibility to everyone.
Our Contribution to the Community
Our contribution to the community has increased consistently as our young business grew over the past few years. We contribute to emergency funding required during floods in Sri Lanka, which occurs annually due to tropical weather conditions and affect gem mining areas. Our emergency funding assist families with food, shelter and more importantly children with new books and school supplies. We also support Foundation of Goodness, an organisation helping to bridge the gap between the urban and rural sectors in Sri Lanka and empowering over 25,000 lives in 50+ villages.
We have bigger dreams to achieve; our aim is to create a bigger contribution to the community.
